PAPERBACK VERSION
NEW EDITION. Larger size, printed in full color. From the Introduction: This book has been written for three purposes. First, to provide the Orthodox reader with a competent overview of the history of Protestantism and its major traditions, from its beginnings in the 16th century to the present day. This overview relies heavily upon the Reformer’s own words as well as the creeds of various Protestant faiths, in order to avoid misrepresentation and caricature. Second, to acquaint Orthodox and non-Orthodox readers with a narrative of the historical relations between the Orthodox East and the Protestant West. Finally, to provide a summary of Orthodox theological opinion on the tenets of Protestantism.

Rock and Sand
I read everything from cover to cover. Literally. I know this book was primarily written for the Orthodox Christian, but it has been a real eye opener for me being of the protestant background. This book explains so much of what I have struggled with and pondered upon over the years. It is worth the read.

Rock and Sand
I'm only on chapter 4, but I'm learning so much. Being raised southern baptist, I now understand that they were far more influenced by Zwingli than Luther. Rock and Sand is not only worded beautifully, but it's just a beautiful book period, and I treasure having it as a key resource for my continuing path into Orthodoxy. Thank you for this, Father Josiah, and thank you for the signature. Glory to Jesus Christ.
